The school district provides iPads for students in grades Pre-K through 1st grade and MacBook Air laptops to students in grades 2-12. Students in grades 6-12 can take their laptops home.

Students have access to a variety of digital learning tools. Most of these tools can be accessed through Clever, the district’s single sign-on source that includes applications such as Canvas, iReady, IXL, Progress Learning and many others. Teachers provide login information for Clever and for other apps and services that may not be available via Clever.

School-issued emails and accounts are provided for educational use only and students should not login to web services through personal accounts. Students should never share passwords. Also, student should not browse, search, view or engage in inappropriate content on campus or at home.

If you do not have access to the internet at home, you may be eligible to check out a “hotspot” that will allow you to connect the school-issued device to an internet connection. Contact your child’s school for more information.

1. Keep food, drinks and liquids away from the laptop. A spill can cause the laptop to be inoperable and all data and files to be lost.
2. Keep the laptop out of excessive heat or cold.
3. Do not leave the laptop in a car or unattended.
4. Carry the laptop in the padded portion of your school-issued backpack.
5. Common damages to laptops include dropping the laptop, closing the laptop with a writing utensil or book inside, peeling off keys, and snapping off USB drives.

1. Make sure your student’s device comes to school fully charged. Consider creating a centralized charging station at home and setting a device cut-off time at night.
2. Devices have internet filters installed that restrict access to inappropriate content both on campus and at home. However, it is the parent’s responsibility to monitor the child’s device and activity while at home.
3. Students and parents should review the “acceptable-use policy” in the student handbook for rules associated with use of school-issued devices.

Parents can sign up for ActiveParent, the district’s parent portal for viewing grades and student information, by going to Parents Tab at the top of the website and clicking the ActiveParent logo. Before adding students to their accounts, parents must have an “Active Code.” Parents may contact the district office at (662) 287-2425 to receive their code.

Teachers will communicate with parents through SchoolStatus, a text messaging and voice platform. Each class or group’s text message thread will come from a unique number. Make sure your child’s school has your current cell phone number on file.
